Important news for clients calling at our offices wishing to pay accounts by credit or debit card. From Tuesday 14th February 2006 payments made by cards with a chip can only be completed by the client entering their four-digit PIN number into the pin pad. Payments by cards without a chip can still be made by using your signature to verify payment

Chip and PIN introduces a much more secure way to use your credit and debit cards. Your PIN will not be needed for telephone payments and you should never reveal your PIN to anyone, in any circumstances

If you do not know your PIN number you should immediately contact the issuer of your card, who will guide you through the process of obtaining a PIN

More information can be found on the Chip and Pin website at www.chipandpin.co.uk

Remember that without a PIN no payment can be made by personal visit at our offices with a card that has a chip
